PCAB







The Parent and Community Advisory Board is comprised of members of the community, professionals and parents who can support and advise the academy.


The role will be threefold (3 Cs):

to support the school regarding any Concerns,

provide positive links to the local Community and,

promote the school/ Celebrate achievements.


This board meets at least once a term with the Executive Headteacher and Head of Academy. It will be formally minuted by a clerk and a PCAB member will report to the Governing Body. There are no statutory duties regarding Ofsted as they will be dealt with by the main Governing Body. The PCAB is mainly to support & celebrate.

Having been a pupil myself at Westerings Primary Academy, I'm privileged to now be able to support the leadership of the academy in my role as Head of Academy, and to further enhance the provision for pupils through my work on the PCAB.
Having been a senior leader in Essex schools since 2011, I bring experience to the PCAB from a range of primary settings and communities.

I am an Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form at the Sweyne Park School in Rayleigh. I teach Politics, History and Modern Languages. I have a daughter in KS1 at Westerings, and my role on the PCAB is both as a parent and as a senior leader at a neighbouring school.

I have lived and worked in the local area all of my life and my two children attended Westerings Primary Academy. I have owned and managed Clever Clogs Preschool based at Hawkwell Village Hall since 1994, and opened a second site at Westerings in 2015. I am passionate about fostering excellent links between the Preschool and Academy, ensuring smooth transitions between the local preschool and academy of choice.

I am a Year 4 Class Teacher at Westerings Primary Academy and I am also the Curriculum Lead. In my role, I work with all staff to develop and build upon the wonderful opportunities already available to children here at Westerings. I am very pleased to be a part of PCAB and I look forward to working with members of our school and wider community.

I am the Minister of Bramerton Road Community Church in Hockley.I came into this role in September 2018 and it is important to me to be involved in the PCAB in supporting and sharing the Church with the community.

I have lived in Hockley for 23 years, my 3 children all attended Westerings Primary Academy. I haveworked at Clever Clogs Pre school for 14 years, and been deputy, and now Manager, at ourWesterings site, since we opened in 2015. I am enthusiastic about strengthening relations betweenthe Pre-school, Academy and wider community.

Clerk to the PCAB

I have been a Clerk to Maintained and Independent Schools and, most recently, Academies for over 20 years. I am a trained Lawyer - G.C.Inst.Lex - and presently clerks for the four Hockley Primary Academies and their two Governing Bodies. I have undergone and qualified with the National Clerks' Development Programme run by the National Governors Association. I live in Rayleigh and have two grown up daughters.
